Koinonia Typeface

Koinonia, pronounced "coy no nyah", is Greek, and its primary meaning is "fellowship, sharing in common, communion." Koinonia is a slab-serif typeface originally designed for Maxie B's, a local bakery in the Greensboro, North Carolina area.

Maxie B's is a dessert bakery and cafe that has been in operation since 1985 and over the years has become a local favorite, with space dedicated for gatherings and get-togethers. Koinonia effectively upholds the same eclectic and vintage feel as the interior of the shop, as well as seamlessly blends the modern updates of their website. Koinonia is primarily used for any header text for the bakery, whether that is the logo, website, stationary, or packaging. This creates a stronger brand identity for the bakery.
